Magnificent Desolation: Walking on the Moon 3D, released to the IMAX theatre network on September 23, 2005, has reached the $20 million mark at the box office. Since its release to the theatre network, the film has played in 147 IMAX theatres around the world and is currently playing on 18 screens. The top five grossing theatres include: Kennedy Space Center (Florida), Lockheed Martin IMAX Theatre (Washington, DC), Science Museum IMAX Cinema (London, Great Britain), Spacedome IMAX Theatre (Huntsville, Alabama) and the California Science Center IMAX Theatre (Los Angeles, CA).
